SPICE ISLAND

[Distance from Isla Empieza]: 12-14 days at a leisurely pace, 7-10 days with good winds or nonstop.

[Terrain]: Varies. About half of it is primarily flat and the other half is primarily hilly, almost mountainous. Among the hills are scattered shallow caves. On the south side of the island is a docking area for ships. It's fallen into disrepair, but is still usable.

[Weather]: Mostly sunny year-round, and warm to very hot. The humidity is generally low, except for a small section of the island where it rains about twice a week for an entire day. The weather on the sea around the island doesn't affect the weather on the island itself at all.

[Is the island inhabited?]: Yes, but only by several varieties of bees -- ranging in size from normal bee-sized to the size of birds--various small mammals, and a large colony of feral cats.

[If so, what is the culture like here?]: N/A.

[Island peculiarities]: As it's name implies, the island is nearly completely covered in herbs and spices of any and every kind. Anything you could find back home you can find on the island, granted you look hard enough. No one lives on the island, so there's no one to stop you from picking anything you find, and if you leave and come back, you'll find the plants have mysteriously grown back.

However, there's a catch. At the docks, there are stacks of wooden washtubs. These are for gathering the plants, and each member of a visiting crew is allowed to fill and take a single tub's worth per visit. Attempting to take any more will cause the extra to wilt and rot immediately upon stepping off of the island and that person will lose their sense of smell for a day per each extra tub.

None of this is stated or written anywhere on the island, unfortunately.
