♦ DEESUKO BALLIA ISLAND (map)
[Distance from Isla Empieza]: 6 to 9 days.
[Terrain]: Set in the shallow bowl of a long since dormant volcano, this island has steep walls which slope gently to a circle of level terrain with about a ten-mile radius. On and affixed to the top of the volcanoes walls is a large dome showing a perpetual night sky and from the center a gigantic mirrored ball is supported by a thick cord. This mirrored ball is large enough to be a restaurant and, in fact, it is! Those with easy motion sickness best not get on, however.
[Weather]: Tightly regulated using a mysterious system to keep it at 72 degrees. Rain is sluced to provide water for the otherwise dry island.
[Is the island inhabited?]: Why, yes. Yes indeed.
[If so, what is the culture like here?]: It is a pirate's paradise, full of taverns, brothels, gambling dens, opium dens and any other kind of mischief a pirate can get into. It's a fairly lawless area--except if you piss off the boss. Memo. Don't piss off the boss. The boss controls the ports which are near impossible to escape from and pirates have rotten in prison, forgotten about one way or the other.
[Island peculiarities]: Every night there's a dance party! Come dance! Come party! Watch the ball spin and light up the walls like stars! The music is always hot and the outfits are always fantastic!

[Date occurred]: Early February 2014.
[Date recovered]: It probably took a couple of weeks to rebuild the club that burned down, but the island should be back on its feet by now (May 2014).
