♦ SCORPION REEF
[Distance from Isla Empieza]: 1 week.
[Terrain]: Surrounded by low reefs and towering cliffs, Scorpion Reef appears to be uninhabitable from the outside. Its cliffs rise far above the highest of crow's nests, so getting a good look at what's inside is going to be impossible unless you're willing to take the harrowing vertical hike. There are small entrances to be found around the rocky outer circle, but a keen eye would have to get really lucky to spot one. Cut into the vast cliffs are sizable coves, well big enough to dock a ship.
If you're lucky enough to get inside, you'll find a comfortable natural paradise. Fresh water bubbles into a small pond at the center that empties into the ocean. Trees, birds, and small mammals have free reign of this safe haven.
[Weather]: Temperate with muggy spells.
[Is the island inhabited?]: No.
[If so, what is the culture like here?]: N/A.
[Island peculiarities]: Scorpion Reef got its name for a reason. This island is infested with small, green scorpions. Their sting won't kill you, but it will definitely cause you to hallucinate for a few hours. Everything is pretty colors, your friends may start looking a little funny, you might get some crazy ideas... Anything could happen. The scorpions can crawl through nooks and crannies a person couldn't, so you can expect them to be all over the outer walls as well as within the island's interior. These little terrors can also swim (yes, swim) a short distance, so if your ship comes within 30 or so feet of the shore, you could have an infestation on your hands.
